I asked him to walk on my back

Been having some terrible back and neck aches these past few days, probably because I've been spending so much time hunched over the computer trying to fulfil a writing task I had been offered. Last night the pain was unbearable.
I couldn't think of getting a professional massage, I didn't want to leave the house, so I did the next best thing: I asked my son to walk across my back. He had a field day, of course, screaming as he walked from my shoulders to my lower back and up again.
Me? I got to spend some fun moments at play with my son and to ease the pain from my back too.
Now do you have any idea how much I would have had to pay for an ashiatsu? Whatever it was, I saved that money.

When I was having problems with my back, neck and hips, the thing that helped me was sleeping on the floor for a week. I also sleep without a pillow on some nights when my neck is bothering me.

I don't think I could do the floor... I'd wake up with more pains but I could go without the pillows I guess. And I did love the freebie massage I got for my kid too. So a combination of those things might be the perfect remedy next time.

@AlisaTR you may want to try and avoid any more back problems by having your work space ergonized. Meaning, having your computer, computer desk and chair in perfect alignment so that you don't have to hunch over or sit on pillows to work comfortably at your computer.

@Starmaiden I do need to get me one of those. I had an ergonomic chair at my last job, and it worked really well. I need one for the house now that I am spending more time on my own computer.

It is a little dangerous to do so. What if the situation gets worse? At least I think it is better to take shoes off as the shoes may be too harder for your body. I think the best way shall be swimming. You don't really have to swim in the pool. Just soak inside and the float will make your muscles relaxing.

Used to do this without the shoes to my maternal grandfather.
Fun times!

@AlisaTR it felt like playing but truth be told, it was really a massage and it didn't feel like a chore.

Backache is a very painful thing. I have the same disease. I wonder if you have a vacuum tank? If you have it, you can operate it at home by yourself. The vacuum tank is really helpful to the backache. If you don't understand, you can search it on the Internet.

@caopaopao actually, I don't. But thanks, I will certainly look into it, Hope it isn't terribly expensive, me choosing the life of a struggling writer and all.

@JudyEv, the Ashiatsu or the kid on my back? The kid on my back was hardly a remedy, we had lots of fun though and I guess the laughter and relaxation did help a bit. I can hardly comment on professional Ashiatsu though, since I haven't done it professionally.

Wow, good thing that eliminated your backache. At least, you saved your money.
Did all the pain go away with that?
