Taking a Break

I've been working all day on a book I hope to finish soon. It's also one I started several years ago. It's an unfinished novel, but close to being finished. If I can finish it this time around, I can add it to the list of finished novels, and look forward to seeing it published in the near future.
The name of this manuscript is Guns of War. It's science fiction, taking place on another planet, which has been at war for 400 years. The main objective is peace, but getting there is not an easy objective.
I have less than a hundred pages left to read and edit at this point, and found a place I could easily take a break. I don't have a cover photo for this one yet, but I'm considering finding one. Of course, this will be put on hold as soon as my friend completes her proof of Thread of Evidence, when I will once again be working on it to get it published.
As you can see on my job board, I have six manuscripts I want to work on this year. Four of those have green asterisks on them. Those are unfinished. I like having goals to work towards.
Now, it's time to make my presence known here and let you all know I'm okay, just working my brain. It's also cold here today, and a bit wet as it's been raining since morning, though it looks like it's stopped for the time being. Because of the cold, I have the heat on and I'm working on my second pot of tea to try to get warm. Not easy to do.
Since, I've been working all day, I also need to find time to eat. I'm planning on a tuna casserole. I only need to make the white sauce, the spaghetti squash is ready. I only need to heat it in the microwave, while I get the white sauce made.
That has been my day. What is your day like? Thanks for reading.

I'm working on a manuscript right now. So I feel the sting of knowing an end and not knowing exactly how to get there.

@thislittlepennyearns That's the problem I had with Freedom's Cry, the last book in my four book series I published last October. So, I know that sting as well. It was fun getting to the end.

I'm glad the doctor appointments went well. I don't expect to get all of them finished this year, but it gives me something to do when I'm in limbo, as I am right now while my friend proofs Thread of Evidence. There's a 3 after that one on the board, showing it was the third edit. It will soon have a 4 on it when I get it back from her.

You are so awesome. There are many people of your age around me who don't even read books. And you've written so many books. You are really a respected person.

I love your project board. It keeps your goals in front of you so it's harder to not follow them. I need one like that. I try writing them down on paper and hang it on my wall but I need the large board and big writing to keep my goals in front of me. How long have you been doing this?

I bought the board many years ago, but I didn't really use it the way I wanted to, for this purpose. I did have goals written on them for 2007, but I had to find a way to erase it, and finally did. It was interesting to see those goals and know I finally completed all of those ones, as Freedom's Cry was just getting started that year. Now, I have it up, and I'm using it. As I complete each goal, I will erase it.

@ridingbet Yes, but the aches and pains put a temporary stop to it. I think I overdid it in the fitness center a couple days ago, so letting my body recharge.

That's good you've been able to get back to work on another book while waiting on your friend to proof the other.
Hope the rain and cold stops, and gets all sunny and warm there! And that the casserole is good!

@Courtlynn Those two pots of tea helped. I haven't ever had so much tea at one time. I couldn't get enough, and needed it warm too.

The casserole was delicious. I'll finish it off tomorrow. Thank you. I need to do something while I'm waiting. As for the cold, we've got three days of cold in the 40's before we return to the 70's, but I think today was the only day of rain, and it stopped a few hours ago.

Interesting day for you, and wishing you the Best to get these done this yr. I once started a Book and then lost the chapters I had started and often wish I could rewrite it. It was a Christian themed Romance adventure book.

I've often found the second time around is better than the first. I hope you do rewrite it. I won't get all of those done this year, but if I can get a couple of those items on the board completed, I'll be happy. At least one will - Thread of Evidence, as I'm pushing to get that one published this year.
