This news will make you sleep with cottonballs on your ears at night

Have you ever felt like something is moving and crawling inside your ears? That is what the woman in the news article I linked experienced. She decided to go to a doctor to know what is going on and the doctor found a living cockroach inside her ear. A cockroach entered her ears. She got the critter removed but the experience is so traumatizing for her that she now sleeps with cottonballs inside her ears. She don't want any bugs inside it anymore. Imagine if this happened to you.
Katie Holley made a 2 a.m. emergency room visit after realizing that the pain in her ear that she described as feeling like an ice chip was actually a cockroach, also known as a palmetto bug.

This is a strange news!! she could stay with the cockroach for 9 long days!! I remember one incident when one small fly entered my right ear when I was 13. It was there for few minutes and refused to come out. I had a horrible buzzing in my ear. My grandma put a few drops of water in my ear and turned my head to the right side. It came out with the water. Later I went to check with doctor and everything was fine. I wonder how she could stay for 9 long days. I was restless in few minutes.

An ant entered my ears when I was a kid and it took me two days to have it removed. She only discovered the cockroach when she started feeling some pain inside her ears. So the cockroach managed to stay quiet for days,

@arunima25 Yeah an ant is easier to remove while a cockroach is harder since its bigger but its stuck on a tight hole.

So Strange, how could she wait for 9 days with a cockroach in her ear? Yes, accidentally some insects can get entry into the ears and they can cause mild pain to severe infection if not attended on time! Thanks for sharing this strange news @CaptAlbertWhisker!

during those 9 days she is not aware there is a cockroach inside. she only knew it when she started experiencing pain and the process of removal took long.

@AKRao24 I fully agree with you, not only you immediately feel pain, but the noise of no matter what enters your ear is incredible.

But how can a cockroach run into her ear? I'm glad the cockroaches were taken out.

This would never happen to me as I always sleep with ear plugs in my ears. I don't like to hear anything as I sleep, I must have complete quiet in order to sleep well.

I use a fan Anne Marie when sleeping. The humming sound blocks out any outside noise.

I always sleep listening to music via earphones for a reason. The electricity from the earphones and the blockage keeps the bugs away.

Have you ever had a simple hair moving in your ear? It seems to have buzzing bees inside. You immediately know if you have something in your ear, imagine a living creature! I cannot see how she waited 9 days.

I think she doesnt know how to remove it. She tried removing it with cotton swabs but it got more squishy inside. A doctor is the one who removed it.

@CaptAlbertWhisker When you feel that there is something in your ear the worst to do is to use a cotton swab. At most you use a little pipe and pump warm water keeping your head tilted, so that the water flows out and what is inside comes out.
