I think you can talk about anything you like. Every person has different interests. It's hard to say which topic is the most popular.

Welcome to myLot! Here are people of different age with diverse interests. This is a friendly place to communicate on different topics. Most of the users prefer to mention their country in their profile, you can do it in the settings.
Please, read the guidelines to understand how it all works.

Welcome to My Lot. I love to travel to different countries and meet foreign people. However I can't do that all year long. I am currently in my home with my two children. I like to talk about travel most of all. I enjoy discussing nature because I like attractive landscapes and wild animals. I have a pet dog and three hamsters. So I like talking about pets. On My Lot you will be able to discuss topics with many different nationalities.

The best subject to discuss with another is their hobbies, likes and dislikes. If they are into basketball, that would be a great place for a girl to start a conversation with a guy. Does she enjoy cooking, what is her favorite cuisine? Do they both like to travel? Where did they go last? What country or monument are they looking forward to seeing next. People generally love talking about themselves, so just ask questions about their interests. Some people are passionate about their religion and politics, but these subjects are best avoided, especially if you are just learning about the person and could be brought up the more the serious the relationship gets. Ask questions about their culture. What do I prefer? Everything stated above.

I find that I can have a conversation with anyone about almost anything, but I find that most of the conversation I have is about being successful.

You can post almost anything as a discussion starter as long as you have read and abide by the Community Guidelines.
Bear in mind that there are people from all over the world here, so if you post about local issues which people from other countries may not know or understand about, you are likely to get fewer responses.
It is always a good idea to describe your topic well (in your own words, of course) and to include something about your own opinions and views on the subject.
You will find, in general, that if you take the time to add your country, at least, in your profile and also an image as an avatar, rather than the default 'green man', people will be a little more likely to respond.
