I hope that no one else has to see anyone suffer through dementia.

Losing a loved one, who suffers from dementia is really hard, a terrible thing to go through. For me, the worst part is when the love one is lucid enough to realize what is happening to them then see them go through that agony over and over again. First, my mother-in-law suffered from Alzhemiers then my Mom suffered some dementia shortly before her death. Now, I have to watch my wife going through it. Her other health issues require 24 hour nursing care so she is in a nursing home. Unfortunately, I am going through the first stages as well.

At this time, their is no cure for Alzhemiers or any form of dementia. The key is PREVENTION before it's to late.! We must constantly strive to keep ourselves not only in good physical health but in good mental health as well. Keeping the brain sharp with puzzles, life skills like a musical instrument or learning a musical instrument is best . Strive to onstantly be learning.

@flpoolbum These activities that you had mentioned are good to delay the progress of dementia. On the other hand, Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease. This is what I had learned during my college days in university. I am not in a medical field by profession. I am not sure if there are some latest development of this medical condition.
