No, when I was in school if you got a whipping in school, and the teacher told your parents, you got another one when you got home.

No. Technically in the state I live in it is still legal with a parent’s permission but no school actually does it anymore.

I did not. I think that was pretty much a no-no in most US schools by the time I entered first grade.

I haven't received any school beatings I am glad to tell you. However at my secondary school the head teacher did use a cane on naughty boys. One time my friends and I got caught playing with water. We were messing with empty yoghurt pots and a water fountain. Then a teacher caught us and I felt ashamed. We were taken to our form teacher and he told us all off. I worried we might be sent to the head teacher for a caning. I didn't like any of the Sciences and so I went to ask the head teacher if I could do a different subject instead. Yes, I was a able to do Religious Studies instead so I was happy. He didn't cane me which I thought he might.

@thesupersingh Thanks. I am glad too. Once in further education none of the students go a beating. These days teachers in England aren't allowed to beat a child in their class.

The teacher smacked my leg!!! Ms Jones had no right to do that!! I wasn't her child!! No teacher should hit a student!! They just need to tell their parents!!!! And send them to time out room!!! And I wasn't even the one that was wrong!!!!

I am very lucky to say this never happened to me. I did have a girl who was really mean to me, but other than that I never had anything like this happen. My mom did though. She had one girl held her down and the girl's mom and girl beat my mom with a stick. It is horrible to hear this stuff.

Fortunately in the USA the teachers are not allowed to hit a child. I never received any type of beating in school. Long ago, teachers used rulers to hit children's hands with rulers, but that was back in the 1800's. Times have changed for the better.

Yes, I remember being beat in school, sometimes I feel like I was beat for no reason, but I guess it kind of made me a better person.
