@JohnRoberts I find it more tolerable if I am walking somewhere where I hat go rather than just walking for the sake of walking.

You can always walk to a farther store and then walk home again. I do that at times.

I saw an article at the library in Prevention magazine and they had listed so many benefits that I will walk for as long as I am able.

My favorite way to exercise is walking. We don't need to spend money. Walking is absolutely good for our health.

@mom210 Following a diet to lose weight can be very tough. A lot of willpower is needed. Keep at it!

@db20747 I just helped one of my neighbours move to another apartment in the same building. They moved from the 8th floor to the 7th floor. We did it in two shifts, two hours early this morning and two hours now. That is completed and so now I will sit and rest for a little while and recuperate. I will now catch up on myLot. What are you up to today?

I would go for a walk if invited and the weather was good. I would prefer to ride my bike though. My husband and I used to go out on one of the trails at the park once a week before we moved but we haven't found a good place around here yet.

I use to jog until a bum knee and back curtailed that exercise. So, now I walk instead. I especially enjoy walking the boardwalk where I live

I'd say YES! I love walking with other people. Even when single, I walked with my angel dog. He was 13 and still filled with the energy he had as a puppy.
I think walking is super important and not everyone does it enough. At times, I did slack some and had to build back up to what I could do. bed rest for an entire pregnancy can be killer for personal stamina.
Now I'm working on marathon running! I'm not there yet, but I will be!

Great comment! You obviously have come to appreciate the importance of walking for our health. I had a dog and he it seems that he was always waiting for me to say the word walk and he would run to the door. All the best in getting fit for the marathon and you don't want to walk it but run it. Amazing!

@1hopefulman I had a border collie mix. if he felt like it was time for his walk, he'd bring me the leash! There was no doubt he was one for being on the go. I miss him a ton. My new dog likes the outdoors but isn't a huge fan of leash walks.

@1hopefulman As do I. It's the best exercise and the least amount of impact on your joints.
