I'm happy to report that garden 2018 is well underway.
I have use of a large garden plot thanks to the area's community garden program. My plot measures 12"x50".
So, this year I've planted so far - tomatoes, spaghetti squash, red onions, cucumbers, green beans, snap peas, beets, green peppers, jalapeno, summer squash, eggplant, broccoli
Yet to be planted - tomatoes (different varieties), kale, yellow onions, and a red and a yellow pepper
I love going to the local greenhouse, and looking at all the plants. I also love planting and being in the outdoors. Looking at the scenery, hearing the sounds, and smelling the fresh smells.
Weeding is not a favorite but I like my hula hoe.
Harvesting is fun. It is like going to a free grocery store.
Canning is a tiresome process but I enjoy canning with my mom and the home canned goods sure taste amazing.
Do you garden?

Personally, I haven't gardened in a while, but we have community gardens sprouting up all over the place here where I live. So, maybe some day soon I will have time to jump on the bandwagon!

@FayeHazel In the meantime, my "garden" consists of the produce section of the local grocery store! lol

@moffittjc It's bug free, always ready and doesn't need weeding :-)

Oh nice! I hope you get a great harvest. Does garlic keep coming back - year after year?

@FayeHazel No, you need to plant it every year but tomato cherry coming back every year and you don't need to plant it.

Well, I'm not sure if you'd call what we do gardening or not. We certainly call it that!
We have tomatoes and strawberries in our 'garden', along with chocolate mint, thyme and chives. We also have edible bamboo and sugarcane. (Those last two were planted because they are beautiful, but we can and do eat them, too.)

@FayeHazel Thank you!
We are in hardiness zone 6a and 6b. My city is on the tip of a rise on the Ozarks Plateau. We get weather for both zones.
See the arrow on the map.

I'd call it gardening too. Chocolate mint, that interests me. I know of the regular mint. Does it really taste like chocolate? Wow! Are you close to the Arkansas boarder ? I didn't know we could have the edible bamboo or the sugar cane here.

@DaddyEvil Nice looking place. I like the look of both the sugar cane and the bamboo. I wonder what growing zone you're in. We're in 4 up here. Not warm enough for a lot of cool things alas.

I see Faye that is it a very big garden. I have never had a garden of my own and not sure I would be good at it.

Not me. I killed a cactus once. I just have our swing chair out there all the time and another chair. I will switch chairs when the rain comes.

Oh yes, nice amount of space, good thing, because nothing seemed to do too good this year, except my jalapenos. You never know - you might have hidden garden skills :-)

Yes, it's an issue of having a space for a garden for me.
They said I can grow plants in a pot.
But it looks inconvenient for me.

@JustBhem Ah yes, some things can do quite well in a pot, like tomatoes and peppers. :-)

I wish too you could have one. Is it an issue of space? I know that here - a lot of communities have a community space you can sign up for
