Happy anniversary to them! Their secret which is no secret, they made a commitment to each other and they never broke it through thick and thin.

Happy 50th Anniversary to your grandparents, Danna. I believe their secret was love, respect and trust plus a dozen of compromise. So happy for them.

That's a crazy long time. I am still 8 years away from hitting 50 and can barely put up with myself let alone someone else. So I cannot even comprehend what they went through to make their marriage last that long. Good for them though.

Congrats to Gram and Gramps on a successful 50 years! My parents also made it to the 50-year mark, which seems unheard of these days. Unfortunately, I don't know the secret to making relationships last that long!

@db20747 Haha, they probably never even considered a divorce. It's just not how things were for their generation.
My dad once told me a story about the key to their happy, long-lasting marriage. He said the secret was dancing. I said "Dancing?" He said, without fail, every week of every year of those 50 years him and his wife would go out dancing twice a week....her on Tuesdays, and him on Fridays! lol
