Three Shower Day

I was admiring my work in my rock garden after a morning walk with friends yesterday when my cell phone rang. I dashed into the shower to get ready for golf at our old country club. Friends invited me as a guest to play 18 holes. It was so hot and humid, that we only played 9 holes. Lunch was inside where it was nice and cool. Of course, I needed a shower again when I returned home. My husband and I went out in the convertible to do errands together. We also used part of a gift certificate from my son and his bride at garden shop. We planted some flowers in an urn we bought and spread mulch. Of course, I needed another shower before we went to dinner at our friend's home. I'll be leaving this morning shortly for my morning walk again and a quick breakfast, Guess what I'll be doing once I return home? Do your bathing habits change much once it gets warmer? I usually shower after my walks and take a bath in the evening.

That's why I don't like summer. Fortunately, I have summer vacation. I stay in an air-conditioned room and don't go out when it is very hot.

During the very hot months of July and August - I would have at least three - when I get up in the morning, again at midday, and in the evening. If I go out, I may have an extra one when I return .

It must get pretty darn hot down there! The a/c keeps me cool enough throughout the day unless I must go out.

@DianneN I actually don't like air conditioning - makes me feel stuffy, I prefer fans.

@Kandae11 I love the a/c. I actually gave thanks to having it, yesterday. Fans don't do a thing for our humidity.

When I was in my first house and tried to save electricity, during hot days, I showered about 5 times a day (couldn't sleep or study otherwise!).

I grew up in a "hothouse"! My father used fans to blow the hot air out and never let the cool air tough us. He thought it would make us sick. My mother took herself to the beach for a swim to cool off. I don't blame you. Heat and humidity stink!

Yes, when it is hot then more showers are needed and they are usually cool showers as opposed to hot showers. I also drink more water.

We all should avoid hot showers. I grease up like a pig as soon as I step out of the shower or bath. My skin in more on the dry side.

Fortunately it never gets that hot and humid here but I would probably feel the need. I visited New York City once in July and it was like a sauna.

@mlgen1037 I'm not in Florida anymore. We are only there from December to April - our winter. I live in Connecticut, a small state next to New York. It's never as hot and humid here as it is in the Philippines, even on our worst days. Today was much cooler than it's been, but will be back to hot tomorrow.

It's almost touching 45 degree C here in Capital Region of India and if you go out during noon probably you need a shower within 5 minutes. I am inside the house most of the time since I am on leave and looking forward to resume my job in Sydney in couple of weeks where temperature is in the range of 10-16 C (Winter Season). I am taking two showers a day normally. Otherwise also I like to have two in all weathers.

We have too much land. As the gardens keep growing, we dig up and move or cut back. It's like a jungle and takes a lot of work.

A nightly bath is so relaxing, too. I have no time for a bath early in the day. I actually had mine just as soon as we got home about an hour ago. Unfortunately, it was a quick one. I wanted to catch up here. Have a wonderful week!

I can imagine the showers you need in this heat. We've got 95 at the moment, and I'm so not liking this heat, with the humidity that comes with it. Bring on winter.

@DianneN Right now, it's still somewhat pleasant, but temps are rising now that the rain has stopped. The humidity is still here. As the temps rise that humidity is going to be unbearable.

I never take baths. Definitely a shower guy. During the summer it is not uncommon to have two showers in a day. But it does depend on what I am doing.

Yes, it does depend. My husband is a shower guy, but once in a blue moon takes a bath in our new jetted tub when his muscles ache.
