How was your Memorial Day?

How was your Memorial Day yesterday? For those of you not in the US, yesterday was a Holiday for many Americans. Mine was pretty busy. I finished all my grading in the morning and went to a music BBQ later in the afternoon. But the highlight was probably just swimming in the pool with my young neighbor buddy. We played catch, goofed around, and I helped him with his Australian crawl. I also started on my "program" to get my girlish figure back, which is going to involve a Lot of swimming this Summer. I'll attach a picture from last Summer, when he and his mom and I, along with a another family, went swimming on a warm evening and showed off the rafts we'd built.

Did you avoid any flooding? It sounds like there were some vicious storms in the Northeast.

I went on a picnic with my boyfriends family. It was lovely & did alot of walking/hiking. It was nice getting out after being cooped up in the house recovering from surgery. I am enjoying the nice weather while I can before i go back to work in a month.

I was not going to go anywhere yesterday and just be with the boyfriend but then he ended up leaving and spending the night at his friends house, made me upset as this entire weekend he spent with a friend of his. I went to my aunt and uncles house with my family and just went through old photos so my aunt can start a college for other to see and then played a family game which was fun. I didnt do to much but just tried to relax and have a good day really. More excited for tonight then anything.

I had an exhausting day and I was happy when we came back home and I could wear my PJ and rest.

Heh. Today was fun at the preschool. I left on time (for a change--we've been short-staffed), stopped at the College to grade my scantrons, and am now ready to do whatever I want, including throw off all clothing.

@TheHorse When I have bureaucratic stuff to do I feel stressed and I am exhausted when I come home. I take a bath and wear my PJ, it's the only way I can relax. Today seems a beautiful day, sunny, breezy, quiet.

Sounds like you had a nice day! A cool dip by the pool plus swimming lessons makes for both a refreshing and informative day. My day was a trip to my favorite pizza pub.

Sounds good. Did you have anchovies on the side?

@TheHorse Don't like anchovies (too oily) although I do enjoy other kinds of fish. I went with sausage instead.

Both sound like good pursuits. I'm relaxing right now, and deciding whether to cycle after a long day.

Rafts? Oh man that sounds like a lot of fun! Girlish figure? This calls for my bike, that's been in storage all winter:) Our Memorial Day was quiet, we stayed home and enjoyed the day. Basketball last night on television, glad that Golden State is going to the finals I hope they beat Lebron Jame's pants off!

Mr. James doesn't bother me as much as he did "back in the day." But I'm a Warriors fan.

@TheHorse I live in Canada. We don't celebrate Memorial weekend but we do celebrate the equivalent of Veterans Day on November 11.

I was in the kitchen all day long, not making things for a party. I was canning a bunch of the vegetables I had just harvested from my garden.
