Kitty is sleeping in litter box! Has anyone had this problem?

So we got a kitten about 2 weeks ago and he is litter trained. First week he would hide from us in our closet now he sleeps in the litter box.. in his own poop!! What can i do so he will stop doing this?

Comfy blanket in a box in the sun. A lot of kittens do this.

That is so cute! You can set up a little space for him in a shoe box or on a cushion. They sleep wherever they leave their scent.

it's normal for them to hide, from what I've heard. But not to sleep in their litter boxes.. hm. that is strange. hope you can get him to stop that.

An adult cat sleeping in a litter box is never a good sign, it means they don't feel well. But because you're talking about a kitten here, they do all kinds of goofy stuff. He could be thinking it's a huge sandbox to play in as well as a litter box, and then he just got tired and fell asleep. I think he will be okay, just keep it as clean as possible.
