Have you ever washed your pen drive in washing machine?

But I did it, very smart, isn't it? Not knowingly but as a mistake.
My elder son took the pen drive from my bag and used for copying some files. He told me he is reinstalling laptop so he may need the pen drive with him. I given to him telling that keep it safe as I have important files in it. Evening I forgot to get it back and he too missed it.
Probably after the works he kept the same in his trouser’s pocket. The next day I washed all the cloths without checking the pockets. I only check those dresses wearing outside. Normally at home dress they don’t have the habit of using pockets. But after washing clothes, drained water and saw some objects in the machine. On taking it I realized it was my pen drive, shocking indeed.
Today is the third day the incident happened and I allowed the same to dry by its own, now I checked the same in computer. Thankfully it works perfect.
Any accidental stories like this?

Washing Pen drive? That is nothing....we washed my son's mobile phone .... and like you we dried it completely before restarting and found everything was OK!
Your files in the pendrive must be looking clean and shiny now....which detergent you use?

haha now I am relieved on seeing the files with it. I thought it has gone and it belongs to my office. So you can guess my feelings on seeing the same in washing machine. This is my first experience so I thought all gone. Detergent... not Nirma... but. Surf excel.
Mobile is more complicated and good to know that you saved it greatly.

Oh, yeah several times and I would realize that I left something like money, ballypen and USB drive.

No,no such accident has ever happened with me.But once my father had thrown his favourite pen out of the window.He was thinking something and in that absent mindedness threw his pen out .Fortunately the pen fell on grass.A fraction of a second after throwing it out he realised his mistake,rushed out and picked the pen from grass.

Glad it is working. Once my niece collected my soiled clothes which were lying in a heap and without checking put them in her washing machine. I was spending a holiday with her in the US. There was a book that went along with it (lol)

my son used the flash drive to reinstall UBUNTU in the CPU but it is not working. the USB is always kept in the blue bin for small items.

@ridingbet Even my boss does not know what I am doing with pendrive and computer. He trusts me very high so hardly questions me. Even if I told this incident he will take it as easy. But I don't like to take advantage of such good character.

Oh yes, it happened to me twice and in both instances, I was lucky that it was still working perfectly when I used it. No damage whatsoever. It was also washed in the washing machine!

Well I take care of the washing of clothes in washing machine at my home. Well, sometimes I have found some of my leftover coins or a few notes or handkerchiefs in my trousers.
Occasionally, some pin or something.
Yet never any pen drives or mobiles.

Shocking or soaking? 
I think it's your duty to check pockets before putting clothes in the washing machine! I generally do that before placing them in basket and wife double checks before putting them in machine! After all she has no trust in my IQ

The same has not happened to me.. but something different has happened..lol
My mom without knowing that, in my brother's shirt pocket he had hundred rupees note, she has put all his clothes for Washing...
After that only my brother told that, then we checked his shirt pocket and the note was fully wet and we dried it somehow..lol

It has not happened with me. I have washed my husbands shirt with 100 rs inside the pocket of the shirt. After washing I found money in the pocket. It has happened 2-3 times.
