well, i am now 2 years and 8 months in the company i am in, but i still have the same position as when i started 
It makes me quite sad since i think i deserve it, since the work i am doing is definitely above my pay grade now. I am just unlucky because the project i am in does not have a huge budget. 
Anyways, i am confused if i should stick here for a few more months, or just try to transfer to another project..or even another company

Same here but I am not expecting anymore been here for almost 3 years and no promotion at all even the salary is the same.

Sometimes when you expect a promotion they will not happen. Just keep putting yourself out there, do a lot of work and I'm sure you will be rewarded appropriately.

Upon your observation, how many months of works your colleagues taken before they were promoted in your company? In our country back up system rules.

@lady1993 Oh I see, what reason do you think why it is not happening to you? I think back system is happening. When you don't have one then it is so hard to get promoted.

@simplfred i hear the budget of our project has been cut severely we only had like 3 people promoted, and we are more than 50 in our project

Well, you have to weigh the situation and if you still love your work then stick to it but if you no longer love it anymore then let go.
