Black Bottom Cupcakes... Yummy !!

The other day my mom had bought mini sized black bottom cupcakes. There were maybe 12 in a pack for $ 6.00 ( outrageously priced ). I ate a few (more than a few). I felt bad that she bought them and I wound up almost eating all of them that I wanted to replace them, but not with store bought. I prefer making things from scratch. I had all ingredients on hand, except for the chocolate chips. Yes, I went to the store for one item ( when most people are sleeping at night, I'm at the grocery store and come home baking these from scratch ). I made them big size and was holding back from eating those... Well.. I've already had 3 and the rest is for my mom cause I wanted to replace hers that I ate. Anyone else made Black Bottom Cupcakes before and what brand chocolate chips do you prefer better ? Hershey's or Nestle Tollhouse ? I know that such foods are not healthy but sometimes one can't resist :)

I really don't know why they are called Black Bottom Cupcakes. I think it is because the cocoa powder used in the baking make the cupcakes a black color. Plus the added chocolate chips ( mixed with cream cheese ).
