Good-bye Fridge!

Philippines
June 2, 2018 11:40pm CST
It's sad enough that my debit card became expire for some reason. But now it seems that our Refrigerator became expires as well. I just noticed it started to see it defrost even though it's on. Maybe this was anticipated because our relatives kept telling us to replace the fridge but mom was having none of it. I guess they got a point after all. We'll replace it soon but she got other errands to do, which is a couple of days from now. One of her friend said that they expire at least after decades of use.

Hello @rakski how long before you bought a replacement? I wonder which brand is the best now.

Maybe you just need to turn the temperature up? There should be a temperature gauge in your refrigerator to control the temperature.

Hello @Starmaiden Unfortunately it shows the same results. I guess it's time to let go and replace this.

How old is this one? I had an old fridge, which was with me through tough times. It would get covered with snow, the ice compartment, it used to look so cute, and I did enjoy eating a lot of ice from that. When dad decided to sell it, I was devastated. You see, that thing was outdated, but still functional. I wanted somebody who needed it to take it from me but nobody would. We had to sell it. I am basically inclined to use things till they can no longer be used. And this one was like a friend.

Hello @vandana7 If it was still working and doesn't consume much electricity then that was a waste selling that fridge.

@Letranknight2015 No. No. Now don't you go beating yourself up over this. That fridge was old and frail. Even without the cleaning it wouldn't have lasted much longer. That fridge is in better place now. Watching from appliance heaven. And if you're ever feeling sad, just know that it will always be in your heart. OHHHHHHHH WHYYYY FRIDGE! WHYYYYYYYYYY! "Oh when the saints... come marching in... oh when the saints come...."

Hello @redhotpogo yes it was, maybe it was our fault for not cleaning it often.

maybe you can search the brand of your fridge online to see if they have authorized service centers/contractors. describe the problem and ask how much it will cost to fix.

Hello @hereandthere This fridge had been around for decades I doubt they will answer this concern fro an old model.

Normally the bank sends you a new debit card well before the old one expires. Maybe they do it differently in the Philippines? Not sure. In any event, hope you get a new card and a new refrigerator soon.
