recently, I read the novel< Wuthering Heights>. It's about a person who was an orphan, but he fell in love with the manor master's daughter Cathy.
But Cathy married another man who is well educated and well riched.
The orphan, whose name is Heathcliff, began to revenge for many years. Heathcliff and his loved girl Cathy dead many years later, below is the last paragraph of this novel.
"When I reached the two graves I paused for a time, gazing at Cathy's headstone, now covered with moss, and at Heathcliff's which was raw, bare stone. It was a gentle night, dusk was falling and moths fluttered amongst the heath and the harebells. As I listened to the soft wind breathting through the grass. I wondered how anyone could ever imagine anything but peace for the sleepers in tht quiet earth".
Love or hate? happiness or unfortune?
Do you ever read this novel? Would you like to share your thoughts?

I remember this novel from long time ago. Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. I think I made a book review of it during my school days. I also watched the movie.
Since you reminded me of it, I think it would be a good idea to re-read or re-watch it sometime soon.

I've read the novel in my youth. The character of the vindictive Heathcliff is what is left in my memory about this Bronte novel. Reading the last sentence of the novel in this post, "I wondered how anyone could ever imagine anything but peace for the sleepers in the quiet earth".I actually felt a kindred attachment to the novel's anti-hero. I must read the novel again.

No I have never seen nor read this novel. Sorry.
Why did Heathcliff took revenge? If he really loves Cathy he will never do that.
