Do you get irritated by little things?

Before my sister was very ill she says the smallest things used to get on her nerves. Now she says that since she has recovered she realises that they really weren't worth worrying about and she has learned to focus more on the good things in her life because our days on this earth are precious and none of us will be here forever. I must admit I do stress about certain things that I know are unimportant, I think we all do at times but I am trying to be more like her and appreciate the finer things in life. Do you find yourself getting irritated by little things that don't really matter?

There are little things that irritate me, people who reply to their phones when it's their turn to pay at the cashiers in the supermarkets surely get on my nerves.

@sprite1950 This is also something that annoys me a lot. Also when people bump into you and do not say sorry.

Hi Snowdrop. Oh yes, I do, most especially when I am having my monthly visitors. I have zero tolerance for anything when things do not happen the way I want it to be.

Do you know 'those' visitors come to everyone (not gender specific) and anyone can react harsh on such occasions. Don't trust me? Read this, (no ref-link)

I get irritated by little things, but I don't let that interfere with my overall happiness. I have learned not to "sweat the small stuff," so I try to look at the big picture in situations and not get bogged down by the details. But we're all human, so there are going to be things that get under our skin from time to time.

I love that expression. We used to have a comedy TV programme over here called "Don't sweat the small stuff". It was hilarious, I guess if something major happens all the small things become unimportant.

There are little things that stress me out but like you I am trying to give them a little or no importance at all otherwise I wouldn't be capable to socialize as most of the things that annoy me are other people's attitudes.

@nela13 I think we're all like that up to a point but some people are very calm and don't let anything bother them. I wish I was more like that.

I used to. I must admit. But as I have gotten older I think there is less that I find that matters. So, less bothers me these days than used to. I feel like I am much more laid back nowadays than I was when I was younger.

Oh yes. I get irritated at the littlest things. I know it's stupid but I just can't help myself sometimes. I have issues dealing with certain noises or just noise and I will get irritated rather quickly. Not sure why but it does seem to get worse as I get older.

Yes there are a few small things that really annoy me.I think it is normal for people to have that small thing that annoys them. I work for a call centre for a UK fashion retailer who sells online. I get really annoyed by the people I speak to who say they ordered something offline when they really mean online.

@sprite1950 Why do you think you duplicated that intentionally? I am sure you did not plagiarized but it was a coincidence only that you did a similar one. Probably you read the same thread in the 'other' forum site which inspired you to do that one!

I agree saying that if you focus on small things you can never focus on big things and can never progress,we must add value to our life by doing really really great things, and it's simple if you focus on good things good will happen

I will admit a lot of little things frustrate me and I worry about stuff or get too stressed when I shouldn't. But, one thing I will probably always find irritating is loud eaters. Just people chomping on their food and not eating with there mouths closed will never get rid of that annoying feeling.
