How many of you when you went to a movie theater snuck in your own snacks?

I know movie theaters were pricey when I went and then on top of that buying snacks which adds more to the bill. I like others used to sneak my own snacks in because I bought what I wanted to eat.
So, how many of you because of the prices being so high snuck in your own snacks to the movie theater? Thank you Valerie for bringing that up.

I go to watch the movie, not to eat.
When my kids were young I would send them with treats in a bag. It was allowed at that time.

That is interesting at one time theaters let people bring in their own food. I thought the purpose was that they make money for the theater by people buying snacks from them.

@Hannihar our local drive-in and multi-plex theaters do not allow snacks to be brought in.

Hi Hanni. We would buy pizza or fries or popcorn and milk tea or soda.

So Louise movie theaters there have french fries too. That is great. You really have a nice picnic while you watch the movie.

@Hannihar I think some have or some buy it somewhere before going inside the movie house, Hanni.

In my country they never actually check our bags and lots of people bring their own snacks. I have also done it in the past. Now I usually buy a small popcorn and share it with my husband.

@Hannihar I visit the movie theater once or twice a year. Right now I have a gift card and I will probably use it later this year. Most of the time I watch movies at home.

That is nice you have a gift card. Does that include buying snacks too? I love to watch at home so can just relax.

We sometimes got the big thing of popcorn and shared it. It is a lot cheaper to get fast food before or after the show. When they catch you sneaking food in or eating illegal food, they can kick you out. Once my son paid for a large popcorn to share and two soft drinks. It cost more than the movie tickets.

Growing up, the prices weren't too bad so we bought snacks there. But we have snuck in snacks for the nieces and nephews when we've taken them over the last 3 years. As kids these days cant sit still to watch tv unless snacking.

I can understand that. Kids have a hard time sitting still. Did they want to talk during the movie or want to run in and out?

Is that because they do not sell it in the theater?

It's either I would eat first or I would buy some snacks at the supermarket. Popcorns in the movie theaters are kinda pricey.

Very good idea to buy them before you go to the movie theater.

Yes. My parents did it when we were kids, and when I got older I also did it myself a few times.

@Hannihar No, they never check the bag. I think this is the reason why many people take their own snack. There's no risk.
