I can't get over the similarities

For 4 years I had lived in the South End of Halifax. My building was near the train yards and my apartment faced the harbour. I was able to watch the cruise ships and other boats come and go. I also had a good view of the playground where the children from the daycare in the building would play at least twice a day. One of the drawbacks of the place was I had a visitor in the form of a mouse living with me. He would hide in/under the sofa, behind the refrigerator, the stove and under the sink. I only saw him at night. I recently relocated to a whole different part of the city (In February of this year), and I can't get over the similarities between my new place and the old one. I traded my harbour view and the cruise ships for a view of the lake with a Canoe/Kayak club. Instead of seeing cruise ships, I now see kayaks and canoes. My unit now has a balcony and it faces the elementary school. Instead of preschoolers on the playground, I get to listen to/watch the Primary to grade Six elementary students playing during their recess and lunch hour. At my old place I wasn't allowed to have a pet. (Although that never stopped the mice from getting into my apartment) Now, instead of a mouse, I have a cat who acts like a mouse. She is always getting into my lower cupboards, under the sink, on top of the fridge, on top of the stove/counters, on top of the dining room table, and now she has found her way under my sofa. My sofa sits close to the floor but the underlining is ripped. She gets behind the sofa and crawls into the rip in the underlining and uses that as a bed. Even though my neighborhood and the scenery has changed and that my new apartment is a different layout than my old apartment, it feels like I never left at all!

That is extraordinary! Wherever you live, enjoy it! I would love the view, too.

Hello my friend, I'm glad that the new place you are in right now doesn't have much of a difference from your place before.

At least having a cat in much better than having a mouse for a pet.
