It is not so hot now. The sun is hiding from the gray clouds and the wind is blowing, giving us a cool temperature.
Since it is the beginning of the rainy season, I plan to have a short vacation in some of the scenic spots here in our country.
But wait… I will be on virtual vacation only. So, I have posted the miniature souvenir of windmills brought home by my big brother, and the single yellow windmill, given to my son by his ex-girlfriend.
If only there are windmills here in my province, then maybe we will not have power interruptions.
I recall the windmills in houses when I watch old American movies, and the windmills are for generating power to create electricity, or to bring a pail of water up from a deep well.

i remember a brand of evaporated milk with windmills in the cover of the tin can. 'Milkmaid' and 'Dutch milk'. these milk brands have unique and distinctive tastes.
Holland is also a place that enters my mind when i think of windmills. here, the windmills of Ilocos are worth bragging about for those who live in that province.

@ridingbet it goes to show how hot it is where you are. here the water from the faucets and even in the buckets get cold when it's been raining a lot. even those who don't normally heat water for their bath now do so.

@hereandthere yes that is the temperature of the water from the faucet.but when it is the cold season, the water is also icy cold that is why i heat water for my bath. i would not dare to splash very cold water in me because i have to have a lukewarm bath during cold season.

really, now you have to heat water for your bath? our water here is still warm from a sunny day, and when i have my evening bath, the water is not so cool yet. i actually like the temperature of the water for my bath.

are they battery-operated? i've seen passengers in public transportation holding small hand-held fans to cool themselves, or they put they bag or backpack on their lap and put the mini-fan on top of it.

@hereandthere with windmills as electric fans. oh, i can imagine that.
i can even hang my wet clothes along the fans of the 'windmill' and will let them dry up if the mill is moving

no, they are not small electric fans so they are not operated by a battery. they are windmills. they are souvenirs from Ilocos.

really? is it only a decoration, a tourist spot, or does it generate power for electricity or water?

Here is some information I found for you on the windmill here in Jerusalem.
The Montefiore Windmill is a landmark windmill in Jerusalem, Israel. Designed as a flour mill, it was built in 1857 on a slope opposite the western city walls of Jerusalem, where three years later the new Jewish neighbourhood of Mishkenot Sha'ananim was erected, both by the efforts of British Jewish banker and philanthropist Moses Montefiore. Jerusalem at the time was part of Ottoman-ruled Palestine. Today the windmill serves as a small museum dedicated to the achievements of Montefiore. It was restored in 2012 with a new cap and sails in the style of the originals. The mill can turn in the wind.

I still remember playing near windmills when I was a kid, we used to hide behind one and play hide and seek.
