When was the last time you ate mulberries? You won't find them at the grocery store. But in my town they are everywhere, growing on hundreds of mulberry trees throughout town. I never pass a mulberry tree in season without stopping to pick a few berries and plop them in my mouth. Around here, the trees start bearing fruit in June and continue to produce berries through July into early August. They are quite delicious. And nutritious! And free. When picking and eating those black mulberries with purple juice something happens. Your finger tips start turning purple from the mulberry juice. Thankfully, it is not permanent and easily washes off. Purple fingers is a small price to pay for the deliciousness Ma Nature provides for us through these trees. When in season I eat mulberries almost every single day. It's easy because everywhere that I walk there are mulberry trees. And I do a lot of walking. How often do you eat mulberries?

I used to eat mulberries before but it's been a long time. We call it "banayuyu"

Maybe 2 years ago, I had parked my car under a mulberry tree without realizing it. It was good to wash after a few hours. Not the best tree for a parking lot but the fruits are good.

Not only do they turn our fingers purple but they also make quite a mess of anything that is underneath the tree. I think that's one of the main reasons people here in America don't plant them anymore.

I have two mulberry trees but the fruits are tiny. They do taste good once they turn black.

Woow! I haven't tried that yet. There are no Mulberries in the Philippines. If there are imports, then I'm sure that will be very expensive. I wanted to taste that fruit so bad How delicious is that? Is it sweet? sweet and sour?

Mulberries look very similar to what we in Canada know as Blackberries. My mom used them to make jelly for toast.
