I got a nice swim in today. What was your main exercise on this sunny Wednesday?

I am having my truck worked on today. A cam shaft sensor went out, so I had it replaced. I did cycle home from the fix-it place, which is only a mile or two away, and I will cycle over there now to pick it up. But my main exercise today was swimming in our pool. My young friend is off in Europe, so I had to go it alone, but I got a few chapters of Testimony by Robbie Robertson read, and a few laps in. I'm hoping to have my girlish figure back by the end of the Summer. Heh. What was your main exercise today?

An hour of 5-a-side football is my normal Wednesday night routine. I'm getting too old for it though as I get very stiff after chasing a bunch of young men around. (That probably didn't sound as innocent as it actually is!!!)

@TheHorse I was a prolific goal-scorer in my youth so I still try to carry on in that vein. These days i let the young 'uns do most of the running and I just pop up, right place, right time, and stick it in the back of the net! Or over the crossbar. Or past the post. Or straight into the goalkeepers arms!!

With my innocent mind, and my focus as an athlete (however ancient), I would not have noticed the possible double-meaning. If you are chasing a small round ball around with young men, you are doing well. Do you let the younger men have the glory (scoring goals, etc.)? I tend to take a lot of walks or just get a single in softball. I let the younguns drive the ball and get triples and home runs.

My main exercise was the pool. I also did some shopping, but due to my mobility issues, that's done on a mobile cart.

Can the swimming improve your mobility issues? I love the feeling of resistance but no impact when I'm swimming.

That's a nice day to have swimming. I only do brisk walking if time permits.

Walking is better than no walking. I take stairs over elevators (lifts) if I can.

@Shavkat We ARE exercising when we're out and about, doing our thing. But it IS important to get out.

I go shopping by bike today, and I think this is also a kind of exercise.

How far did you ride? Do you often use your bike instead of a car? I should do it more often.

My main exercise yesterday was mopping and washing all the floors and mowing the lawn. I had a good swim in my bath tub after that.

@TheHorse I usually shower in the morning, but I like to take a bath to relax after my evening work in the garden. I have just finished watering the plants, now it's bath time and then dinner.

@LadyDuck I haven't watered my plants yet this morning. But they're looking pretty good right now. They got lots of attention from me yesterday. Enjoy your bath!

The bathtub swim sounds like fun. I think I'd have to clean out my tub first, since I generally shower. Oh, I did vacuum yesterday! I can add that to my exercise log.

I haven't swum in this summer yet as it is not so hot yet. I am afraid I will still feel a little cold when I am in the swimming pool. I know I am a little crazy Today I mainly ride a bike. Since the sharing bikes are everywhere and it is very convenient for me to use it.

@TheHorse - I walked along Aliso Creek, which flows through our retirement community. It was very pleasant listening to the frogs and birds!

@TheHorse - When my 15 year-old grandson was about 12, I would take him to the creek whenever I babysat him. He loved to try to catch the frogs and catch tadpoles with his bare hands! That creek is a boy's paradise (boys of all ages! LOL).

Nothing unfortunately. I had planned to go to the gym for a 5 pm session but I woke up with my OTHER shoulder doing the same crap that the right one did a few months ago. I am beside myself. It took a cortisone shot to get my right shoulder in line. Seriously, though, how does one just WAKE UP with massive shoulder pain? I don't even have a good story to tell about hang-gliding or skateboarding or fighting off a mugger. Life after 40 sucks.

Small world. I am traveling on business using the company truck, but left MY truck at the shop on Monday before I left on Tuesday for some brakes. So, it's done, $300 later. As for my exercise? I am lifting 12 ounces hand to mouth if you know what I mean.

I do that one often. You can tell it's working because the 12 oz feels lighter with each lift.

Walking. I swear I went up and down a flight of stairs 20 or more times. My hamstrings were sore last night. I cleaned off my deck and trimmed bushes, potted some plants.

@TheHorse You did two exercises today. I am glad you like to swim. I don't really like it. I started yesterday to start walking again so starting out gradually. When I throw out the garbage I do a little walking.
