The longest day, daylight wise
I’m a look lost for words, yes, it’s the longest day of the year, daylight wise. It doesn’t seem five minutes since it was the shortest day, daylight wise back in December.
At Stonehenge here in the UK the sun came up at 4:52am, it now almost 9pm and the sun is still outshining brightly like is as done all day long. I sunsets at 9:31pm here in Plymouth and will be light for the best part of another hour. Not really getting dark until about 10:30, a good 18 or 19 hours of daylight.
Oh, I do love the long summer days, but I know from here on, we are heading back to darker nights, but not just yet at least.

@AKRao24 That is because India is geographically situated at a lower lattitude. (close to the equator)
At the sun's highest point in the sky, (The Tropic of Cancer) the sun sets at 9:30pm and total darkness befalls at 10:00pm on the Solstice. In the lattitudes North of the Tropic of Cancer to the North Pole, the sun will shine for 24 hours, not setting at all.

It hadn't even crossed my mind as being the longest day of the year. I guess I have wasted most of it. It's 4 pm here.

Thats the only problem once we pass this day it will start to get darker each day by a few seconds at first then minutes then before we know it the clocks will go back and it will be going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. I hate the winter months!

We have much shorter twilights in Australia but I did love the long evenings when we were visiting the continent.
