Since few days I realized that my husbands cellphone has these weird funny ring and notification tones going on
Out of curiosity I asked him why does your phone sound so many funny sounds on messages and calls?
He said its easy for me to differentiate who is calling without picking up the phone, just by listening to the ring and notification tones
The tones are placed for individual contacts according to their nature, good for a nice person and funny for a funny
Now this can be useful and could turn out a little annoying if you find that you too are a Victim of a funny tone

I have a different ring tone for all my family. The one for my husband is "Hail to the Chief." It's the song that's played at certain times when the US President enters. I thought it was appropriate.

@kavinitu Yeah, my grandson heard it one time and said, "The President's calling."
For my daughter, I have Fur Elise because she always played it on the piano. For my son, I have Old Time Rock and Roll and Bad to the Bone for our son-in-law who's a former rocker.

It's a genius thought. But I enjoy the single ringtone...

That is a good way to recognize who is calling. I just have an old-fashioned ring, but I have a frog wake up call on the phone alarm, lol.

setting different ringtones under different contacts could be confusing for me.. so i just choose to set a single ringtone for everybody. =)

My parents have different tunes for family members, friends, colleagues, and relatives. I use my favorite song for all incoming calls. My husband uses standard iPhone tune

Thanks you gave me an idea as your parents have different ringtones for family members, I could do the same for my Mom, It could be convenient for her. I also have one of my favorite song as my ringtone and as for my husband you have already read

That might work for some people but for others, like me, it would only confuse them more. Trying to remember which ringtone for which person would drive me nuts. I keep it simple with only one ringtone for all of my saved contacts. That way when the phone rings I only have to check the name associated with the number that pops up on the screen to see who is calling me.

My husband only has a different ring tone for me, he says its so he can answer right away when I contact him but sometimes I think its so he can ignore me! His two ring tones are humorous though, one says "let me out I'm stuck in your pocket" and mine is a bunch of farts and giggles
