My anxiety was bad today.

I have anxiety but, for the most part, it is well-controlled with medication. I haven't had a panic attack in years. I normally feel fine and if I know that I am going into a situation where I am going to be stressed I just take extra meds. Today I had nothing going on. I was home alone except for like half an hour when my parents were here fixing the curtains. I had to go out to the grocery store and to CVS to pick up a couple of things. None of that was particularly stressful. Still, I was on edge for most of the day. I mean I was super-jittery and felt like I was about to have a panic attack at any moment. I haven't felt that way in a long time. The most upsetting part of it all was that there was no good reason for it. I took extra medication and that helped a bit. I've had a couple of Spiked Seltzers and that settled me down a bit more. I don't know what the problem was.

@amadeo Nope. I've been mostly inside. If I'm outside, I'm cruising in my cute convertible which brings me pleasure.

Is it very warm where you are? That can spark off moments like that for no seemng reason at all. You are wise to control it with medication also if its really bad till you can get help.

It has been but I've spent the past few days inside for the most apart aside from driving in my convertible with the top down with I truly get enjoyment from--plus the sunshine is great for my depression and for getting vitamin D.

@NJChicaa it all depends on a lot of things really. My friend used to come round to my house to lie down on a bed a bit till her heart slowed down as it was that bad. Yes sunshine is very good for all that but overwhelming heat can trigger it.

Perhaps the heat caught up with you or knowing you had to make potato salad caused it. (Lol) Hope you feel better tomorrow.

@NJChicaa That's scary if there was no good reason for it. Hopefully, it was just a fluke and won't happen again or at least not for a long time. Glad you have the meds to soothe yourself.

There was absolutely no valid reason for it and that freaked me out even more. I love cooking. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. It has been under very good control for years now.

My issues with anxiety, are totally unpredictable. One day, I float around like nothing could ever go wrong. Maybe I get in a fender bender, and handle this without getting upset. Then, I have a problem with food sticking in a frying pan and I go through the ceiling! Car accident? Cool and calm. Food stuck to a pan? Triggers a major anxiety attack! I'm taking Citalopram, which works some of the time.

I think you'd better go to the hospital and ask the doctor, my dear friend.

Oh my! I'm glad you're feeling a bit calmer by now. That does sound a bit odd.

I am sorry that that happened, like you said there was no trigger. Maybe think back to where you began to feel, the feeling.

My anxiety is controlled with meds also, but I sometimes get restless and jittery when I have company. Even if it is my daughter. It isn't so much hers or anyone else's company that bothers me, it is the complaining or other negative energy they bring with them. I want to be supportive of my friends and family, but I can only take so much of their complaining about their lives. I am a good listener and they all know it. When my daughter comes to visit she does so to get her troubles off of her chest and she is usually here all day. ~sigh~ Once I had to hint that it was time for her to leave. My anxiety was starting to come back.
