Feb. 10, 2016, we lost our elder brother and it's been 2 years and 6 months since, but everyone in the family still haven't moved on. My elder sis and I was talking when she suddenly broke into tears. She said that she hasn't moved on. Then I realized that none of us actually has. I thought it was just me and my mom, cuz' we talk about it all the time. I also thought that as the time pass, we would learn to accept that he's gone, but it's the opposite. We feel more pain each day. He c have been married by now or maybe have kids. He should have been playing with his nee cute niece. There's a lot of "he could have been".

I'm so sorry for your loss, and I know the feeling.
I lose my best friend and I also have this thing "he could have been" traveling now, or he could have been enjoying the company of his sisters and his nieces and nephews.
But sad to say, we need to let them go in order for them to move on as well.

I'm sorry for your loss. But if it makes you feel even just a tiniest better, I lost both my parents when I was 13. So to answer your question, I absolutely have.

It's just been 2 years so the pain of losing him is still fresh. I hope you and your family will find the strength to move on but will continue to cherish the happy memories your brother has left behind.

Yes, I lost my father many years ago. As I always say, the pain never really goes away, you just have to learn to live with it.
