Buried HIM too

Philippines

His brother had also died this afternoon. I knew it for some reason he had been infected with parvo as well, it was only a matter of time. I sent him home and buried him as well. Feel like a horrible person, loosing them both. Right now I feel so depressed for even thinking of getting a new pet.... It's just devastating to loose a pet so young and this is the fourth time..

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.. I know it's not easy if we treat them as family.

@Letranknight2015 I feel you. Just think that he is now happy wherever they are. This comes with having lost someone we love.

Are there no preventive measures? Do not lose heart. You must get one but take all precautions

@Letranknight2015 You need to disinfect the area and consult your Vet on what other measures you need to take before getting a new puppy.

@allknowing I've already consult the vet before and disinfect everything so many times now.

I don't know because when i tried to check it went directly about the virus on pets @MALUSE
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigation Jump to search This article is about canine parvovirus type 2. For canine parvovirus type 1, see canine minute virus. Canine parvovirus 2 Electron micrograph of canine parvovirus Virus classification

@MALUSE that caught my curiosity though, there's no meaning from the word parvo itself. maybe it was a scientist that discovered it.

Oh my goodness, I'm sorry to hear this. Depending on where you got them, they were probably sick from the start and only people with tons and tons of money can really do anything and even then sometimes it is too late. I'm very sorry.

Hello @DesirousDreamer My biggest mistake on here was probably not deworming them the moment i had them adopted.

@Letranknight2015 It is a learning lesson for everyone really. Some people don't know how crucial this kind of thing is.

Hello @vandana7 Actually I don't really know if I still have the courage to have another one. I've let so many puppies die already.

yes, parvo is terrible. it happened to us, too. please clean and disinfect all areas thoroughly. allow yourself to grieve. it's too soon to get a new one.

I never kept one after I lost my earlier one. Though he stayed for long 17 years.

Oh my, I am so sorry you lost your pets. My cats have never had parvo. I assume cats can get it but mine are inside all the time, not allowed out.
