My Deck is Done

My granddaughter Jeanna and her boyfriend Spencer have complete our deck. They were here for three days, sanding and painting our two level deck. We have lots of spindles, two gates and one long one short set of stairs. Spencer replaced two of our stairs that had damage.
Our deck is 25 years old. In case the design looks odd, we had a smaller deck 25 years ago when we originally added it to our house. After the fire, we decided we wanted it to be bigger so my brother added an addition, that is why the wood goes two different directions.
We can't wait to bring our table and chairs and the grill back up but the weather is humid and the paint is still tacky so we will wait a few days to allow it to totally dry.
We are delighted with the color which is a gray-green and the job. The deck no longer gives us splinters and it has a texture so it won't be slippery when we get out of the pool. Job well done.

I really like the color as well. I think the boards going two different ways adds a charm to it.

That's so great that they did that for you! I don't think it looks funny that the wood goes in different directions. It looks on purpose, like a design. Enjoy it!

Your deck looks awesome! They really did a great job.
Mine is in the process but I need some boards replaced so it's been held up for awhile.

My brother built the deck for me 25 years ago and then I decided it was too small so he added the other part. He does custom cabinets and closets in the Atlanta Buckhead area, he is a craftsman. After our fire, he rebuilt my house.

That was how my brother dealt with my decision after two years that my deck was too small lol I should have listened to him when he built the deck he told me to go larger!!

Thank you, my brother added the additional part going the other direction when I decided I wanted a bigger deck about two years after he built the original.

Thank you, it is pretty nice for a 25-year-old deck, amazing what a little paint can do. I wonder if I get a paint job if I will look as good !! lol
