Share an Apartment: “Is it an IDEAL to have HOUSEMATES?”

When I was still studying from primary to tertiary school, I never tried to live in an apartment or even in a dormitory. As I am about to graduate, I was able to experience to share an apartment with my co-interns from different places for 10 months. In some way, it saves money and able to build a good relationship with my batchmates. “Have you tried to share an apartment with housemates?” “Was it a good or bad experience?” Image Credit: metrouk2.files.wordpress.com

I think it is a good idea for some. I was invited to join my batchmates to review together before taking a licensure exam. But then, I refused their offer. For the reason that I cannot review with others.

@Shavkat you apparently have self-discipline because you passed through you own efforts

Nope some people will use your stuff without your permission. I remember on a boy's dorm....One guy wore my underwear. I told him it's yours I will never wear it again.

That's awful for a person to do. I remembered that I usually write my names with all personal things at that time.

In Denmark I lived in my own apartment when I was a student. It was a tiny place (only one room) but it was fine. In Italy I had a roommate. We had own own bedroom and we shared the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom. It worked well and we became good friends.

@Shavkat It is nice to have your own room. I enjoyed sharing the apartment in Italy. The other girl and I had fun together and we often stayed in the living room that we shared, but it was also nice to have my own room for instance if she had visitors and I needed a quiet place to study.

@Porcospino I had enjoyed during my internship. We moved from one hospital to another. Thus, I met a new set of interns on a monthly basis. It was really fun to make new friends.

I do think it is far better to have separate rooms in one apartment. We can observe having a privacy.

From junior high school to college, I have been living in school dormitory. This is different from living at home. But I like it. This improved me the ability to live independently, and the ability to communicate with others.

@Shavkat High school students in private schools mostly live at school. Most high school students in public schools live at home.

I started staying in a boarding house when I studied high school in the city, in an exclusive for girls high school. That went on, until College. I stopped, when I got married and we live in a 20 minute ride from the city. It was really so enjoyable to stay in a boarding house, especially because I get to have lots of friends that felt like they were my sisters and brothers.

I lived in off campus housing with roommates when I attended university. It was lots of fun, but I decided to more into a dorm with one of my roommates for the second half of my junior and all of my senior year. We were both serious students and had serious boyfriends and it worked out for the best.

I do think it is one of the advantages of being in a dormitory. If I am in your shoe, I will do the same thing. I would rather have my diploma and do a lot of things after having it.

@Shavkat I stayed with someone once before I moved to another apartment and I also rented out a room in my apartment. The only roommates I have had are my animals and my ex when we were married. I love just living with my animals. I am glad we live in a smaller place now so cannot rent out a room. It was a disaster doing that.

I have tried sharing an apartment with my friends. It's a good experience for me, it made our friendship closer and stronger. As long as your housemate is trusted and easy going, it's good for me.

I think that is a good way to know real friends in one place. But then, it is inevitable that some people are not that good to be friends with.

I have been living with housemates for the 22 of the last 30 years. first with just one for about 8 years, then on my own for about 8 years and now with 2 or 3 roommates for the last 16. It's a good experience in that I can share bills and it makes affording everything else easier... but sometimes they can get on ones nerves... but I do have a couple taht are helpful in doing things around the house. it all has it's up and down moments.
