I Love Life

As I grow older, and as I suffer from certain ailments like high blood pressure and cervical radiculopathy, and other back issues which does from time to time cause some pain and irritation, I still want to be alive. I still want to live. I still enjoy life.
All the trials and tribulations. All the things beyond our control like friends and family who die. All the hardships that sometimes life can throw at you. I would still rather be alive to deal with it, to live through it, to experience it, than to be dead.
Life is both joyous and hard. But I like it that way. If life were easy, if there were no challenges, what would be the point?
No matter if my later years put me in a wheelchair, on a walker, no matter if it causes me more pain, I want to be here to deal with it. I have no desire to die anytime soon. Life provides so much to live for, even when it is bad.
How about you? Where do you stand? How much is life important to you? Even if you believe in a higher God and a better place...is there any reason you want to leave this world?

I'm 69 and don't want to go anywhere and so will continue to work on my program of prevention and hopefully can prevent as much as possible.

Fortunately I tend to come to terms with the hardships of life although there are things that leave permanent scars. The deaths of our loved ones are much harder than the ailments of our bodies. My only wish would be to die before my life becomes a burden to the people I love. And yes, if I could have what I wanted for me, I´d like to be spared of too much pain.

You have a wonderful outlook here! I also want to be able to live as much but only to the extent that I will not be a burden to those I love. I don't want people to have lives revolve around taking care of me when they can enjoy life themselves.

@chiyosan That is a suffering I would not wish for my daughters to have.

Did you read my mind? I have similar thoughts (lol) It is not how much you have but what you make of what you have is the route to happiness - this is my mantra.

I plan to live to 100. No many people know but I have a bad upper back and neck from falls and car wrecks, I dont take no more than an aspirin for pain and I go on about my day. Seems my back hurts more when I do nothing. I intend to get up and go till I cant lift myself up, then if I need help to lift myself I will hire someone to help me.
I do believe in God, I would not be where I am not if it was not for prayer.

I have had my share of unhappiness and disappointment lately, but even when things seemed to be going from bad to worse I have never stopped loving life and fighting for the things I believe. I enjoy life too much to allow hardships and misery to take control of my mind and soul.

I have always enjoyed the little things in life. Most people miss out on thing because they don't even notice them. I believe that it's not the things we have in life that matters. It is the time that we spend with family and friends.

I want to live a healthy life but as age catches up we acquire additional qualifications in terms of chronic illnesses.
I want to be alive until I am independent but I don't want to live in agony.
I may opt not to take medicines if it comes to that - siva

That is a great outlook. Even when things don't go well it is a reminder that we are alive.
Me, well, my outlook could fill up a book. Life has been... unusual... to say the least.

A number of things would need to change big time on a global scale before I'd opt to stick around longer than my life contract requires.

God's want you to love your life; he doesn't like when you wish that you want to die. It's his most precious gift to all of us--life. I'm still young and still figuring out a lot of things what I wanted to do in life. I love my life and I will never waste it.

I certainly expect to live for some time to come. I enjoy my days and am now exploring my new living space in Daytona Beach. I begin each day thanking the Lord for another day and read some passages. Then before bed, I say the Lord's Prayer. You are right life is good. Blessings to you.

Though I don't possess wealth and things of luxury, life has been in general good to me. I'm doing something for others in my limited way. I wish to live as long as possible though I too carry pains in my body.
