How do you feel about new cell phones?

My husband and I had our old phones, maybe three or four years, and would still be using them, but started having a lot of issues with them.
So we went to the Verizon store and switched from US Cellular to Verizon. Not only were the phones wearing out, we realized we needed a national carrier. US Cellular is fine if you stay in NC, but now that we travel to our daughter's in SC frequently, we need a plan that's not roaming out of NC.
So far, so good. Stayed with Androids (Samsung Galaxy S9+) and even though we're familiar with Galaxy, there are always new features to learn with new phones.
Good thing we've got our grandson to help navigate!
Do you have a favorite cell phone? Our daughter and her husband have IPhones, but we decided to stay with an Android.

I have an LG and I love it. I have been investigating the next model up though..as I really could use a bigger screen and keyboard. I do alot of things with this..and it isn't quite big enough.

@1creekgirl Yes, I agree..also sometimes my keyboard on the phone sticks or something..and I can't finish entering what I wanted to.

The only thing I don't like about cell phones is the small keyboard. I'm used to regular typing like I do on my desktop.

It's amazing how we need to rely on the younger generation to help us with our gadgets. I'm glad you have new phones and aren't subject to roaming. I think if you check, you should be able to turn roaming off on your phone. At least I could do that on one of the phones I had a while back.

Not sure, but I know when we got near Charleston, we were roaming so we tried not to use our phones unless we were in WiFi.

We got "buy one, get one free" Samsung S9s when we switched to Verizon, but they were still awfully expensive.

I had to get a new one earlier this year and went from an"internet possible" to "everything is here" phone. I stayed with Android too. My last phone was a Samsung and it lasted about 5 years so I got a Samsung this time.
I hate to text on it but I have slowly learned my way around it. It sure was confusing for awhile.

@1creekgirl I wish they’d stop developing phones and just let them be now that I’ve mastered my iPhone. Are they just trying to make me feel old?

They do a good job of making anyone over 40 feel old. I've gotten used to asking my grandson for help.

I have used all the major ones, and some of the not so major ones. I just replaced my phone on Saturday with a ZTE, which so far so good. Great battery life. I personally don't see the point in the super expensive phones. Although I have been eyeing one of the lower end iPhone.s
I generally spend about 45 bucks on a new phone.

Wow, we had to spend a whole lot more for two phones when we switched to Verizon.

@1creekgirl I'm prepaid. This last phone cost me $54 bucks. It's a great phone and works better than the iPhone and Samsung I had..

They're really easier to use, in my opinion, than iPhones.

I still have an old flip style phone. I am slow to change to new technology and those new phones are so large.

I can't afford to buy latest cell phone, as long as my iPad is working then it's fine, I have Vivo but it's for text messaging and calls only. I use iPad to go online
