I owned IBM PCG in 1987 purchased from Singapore. Its Floppy drive was big i.e. like today's desktop cassing. Monitor was 12 inch monocrhome. Speed was 2-4MHz, Ram was 64MB, Hard Disk was 20MB, operating system was DOS version 2.3 and software was WordStar4, dBASEIII+, Lotus 1-2-3, SuperCalc, SPSS PC Plus, Clipper, Games was Super Mario, Nintendo, etc. Printer was Epson Dot Matrix. Floppy dist size was 5.25 inch and I still kept 20 nos. with me. I will tell my sons/daughter to keep it and to sell after 50 years when this will be an attractive antique (though I have no grandchildren at present)...lol

My first computer was an Apple IIe. I basically just used it for games back then, but my father used the word processing program and printer for his work. It had dual 5 1/4" floppy drives and no internal storage. Woo hoo!

Oh my goodness, you're bringing back memories! *laugh* I can't remember which came first - the Commodore 64 or the Vic 20 - but my family had both, at one time or another. We also had an Atari 2600. I can't believe that I still remember the model number! I thought that I couldn't recall it until my fingers started to type, it's been so long! ^_^ Wow. Back in those days, the internet wasn't even a dream in my mind! Now, I don't know how I would live without it! But my father is very technologically minded (he used to fix tv's and other electronics for a living) and that's why I've been around technology and computers basically all of my life! ^_^

It was an HP desktop, but as far as the model goes I don't recall. It has been a very long time ago.

We had a Commodore, too. My dad insisted that we get one for our kids. They had a few games on it, but they never liked it very well.
When Dad bought a new Apple, he gave us the old one. Again we had a few games, but I was able to keep the books for my husband's small business on it. Unfortunately it crashed totally a couple of years later and took all of our records with it. When he passed away in 1986 Mother gave us his newer Apple. It worked okay until we bought our new Gateway in 1995. We had another Gateway after that, and now we're on our 2nd Dell.
I wish they could develop computers that could be upgraded more and which would last longer. Although the price of computers has come down, it's still expensive to have to buy a new one every few years. But I couldn't live without mine now, could you?

I have my very first computer in 2001, it is a Dell Dimension L866r desktop. I bought a second computer in August, this year, also from Dell, this a DELL Inspiron 640m laptop which I bought during a PC fair. It is a very bargain buy with added features if compare with a normal purchase for the same model.
