I went to the market to buy vegetables this morning. I met someone who sold fresh lotus seeds. I bought some for my daughter. She likes to eat fresh lotus seeds. Just peel off the green skin. Then peel off the layer of skin outside the seed. White seeds can be eaten directly. Lotus seeds are rich in nutrition. It's also rich in protein. It can clear the heat and detoxify. Do you like fresh lotus seeds?

So, that's how a lotus fruit looks like. Unluckily, we don't have that here. Although, we have the durian, but not here in our province, but in Davao City. It's actually very delicious. But some people don't like it specially the smell.

Lotus nut is a little bitter. It can play a role in clearing heat and detoxifying. After we took it out, the lotus seeds had no bitter taste. Even fresh lotus seeds can be a little sweet.

some asked me to try once. Ah, I remember now, a Chinese friend who did uni with me years ago. Can't remember if the seeds were fresh or not, guess not. They tasted OK I think.

The fresh lotus seed is not too bitter, and the dried lotus seed is a little bitter. But also, they are very nutritious. Some people use it to make lotus seed porridge. I often use it when I make soybean milk.
