Some people here asked me to share my work from home. I’m an online English teacher and my students are Chinese. It is a part-time job that I work only from 6pm til 11pm. I’ll share my experience in working from home soon. What about you guys? Do you also work from home? What do you do?

@mrsbsantiago I am also a minister, so I write a lot of Christian non-fiction, and I also write poetry. I also write general-market fiction under a pen name, and last year released my first novel.

@mrsbsantiago Isn't it too competitive? I also wish to transition from day job to online job due to health reasons.

@yoalldudes For upwork, it is competitive but for online English teaching, no it doesn't. There are a lot of online English websites that you can find.

If your place has a problem with the electricity, you will need one. It rarely happens here. Also, fast internet connection too. My husband is also working from home. So we have 25mbps.

@mrsbsantiago But its not quite there yet. Mylot is just a hobby i guess that has a bonus because it is not going to be enough here. the pay out is a bit low. :D

@chiyosan I wonder how many discussions you have to participate in before you get a dollar in here. Well, if I remember right, back then in mylot, we can earn just from searching. But now, that feature don't exist. I bet it's hard to earn a dollar in here nowadays, don't you think?

Oh I see, as long as the income is enough I think, it would be great.

I would like to try those home based jobs too but so far I have an offline job that earns my day to day living. I am not sure if I chose that career it can match what I am earning right now.

Hi there@mrsbsantiago ! :) May I ask what site are you teaching from? Is it direct client? How's the process? As for me, I do transcriptions online. Basically typing what you are listening. But right now, I enjoy most of it by editing ones, doesn't require too much time and earns a lot specially when you have really clear audios.

@annavi23 I work with Jason English (jiesen365.com). You can also check online English teaching jobs on hioffer.com, there are a lot of ESL companies there. I would like to learn transcriptions but I always fail the test.

That’s Jiesen English. You can also check in HiOffer.com, there are a lot of options there. I don’t know if Jiesen hires people other than the Philippines, but hioffer.com can give you variety of online English company. I tired italki.com, but it seems like a social media. Men are sending me messages to be friends and not for learning. So I closed my account there.

The problem with Humanatic is that right minus wrong rule. I mean, how can you earn more there when every time you make a mistake, the more it decreases your point or earnings. How do you guys cope with that? Or should I say, it is really for brainy people hahahha
