Yes, this is a natural thing! We often get to see female monkey carrying a small pup and feeding her both of which are stray in the news papers! If we have two pets which are two different animals in due course of time they develop friendship and they start missing each other in their absence!

Some months ago, I seen an opposite incident. A small monkey is sitting on a dog and always stay with the dog and drinking milk of the dog. The dog was also happy with the baby monkey. Now that monkey disappeared and don't know what happened.

It is true; my cat and dog are friends; my dog is always so sweet towards the cat, though sometimes my cat is hot-headed but still the dog does not mind.

@MarleneAM I had a dog and cat and they loved each other. One day someone brought their dog in our home and my cat ran away and my dog prevented the other dog from runing after her.

I have heard of cats nursing baby rabbits, dogs nursing kittens, a dog feeding the geese...etc. I think animals have more compassion than we give them credit for.

This is very cute. When they were friends since little, then it was not a problem. My dog didn't have a problem to my cats but they didn't like my dog.

Rana our Bull Terrier and Kitty the cat were best of friends They shared the same bed, even ate from the same plate whenever they were in a mood to do it The icing on the cake was when Kitty wanted Rana when it was time for her to have babies He would pick them from the basket and lick them. Rana would use the garden for his job and kitty would cover it with soil She would lick him up after his bath.................I could go on and on Preiti had great friendship pith our rooster and she also played with neighbour's cat

I had a huge, 150-pound Akita that allowed 3 cats to lay on his body and take a nap @MarleneAM .

When our dog Boots was a puppy, she carried "her" kitten everywhere. That poor kitten was always wet with dog slobber. They were the best of friends.
