A fish cookin' kinda day

Yay, my husband's frying fish for dinner! He had some white Perch in the freezer (didn't have time to go fishing in the pond) and I've got the stewed potatoes and onions already cooking. I especially love catfish and bass fillets, but perch is yummy too. The sweet tea is in the fridge and he'll fry the hushpuppies when the fish is done. No dessert, we're trying to lose a few pounds. My eye is improving after the cataract surgery on Thursday, although it's still sensitive to light. I guess that's normal. I can already see better at a distance, praise God. Had to buy a pair of reading glasses so I'm seeing much better. Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday. After dinner, I think a nap might be just what we need!

I also love catfish, but perch is also very good. It's normal that your eye s still sensitive to light, in a few days you should be fine.

I'm late getting here but your dinner sounds really good. I've never had fried catfish . Glad that you're seeing better after your surgery

Thanks, the dinner was delish, although I really love fried catfish even better than white perch. It's wonderful to be able to see better, too.

On a scale (!) of 1 to 10 how did it rate? And glad the cataract surgery seems to have been successful.

Are you asking about the fish dinner or the cataract surgery? Both turned out great, lol.

@1creekgirl Sorry, I meant the fish dinner - hence the 'scale'.

Nope. Perch is delicious, but I do like catfish very much as well. In fact, there are few fishes I have found I don't like, but that's just me. You can't go wrong with a fish dinner is all I am saying.

That is awesome news about your eye. I have wanted to cook fish at home for a while, I cooked oysters for dinner last night.

I truly am thankful the surgery was a success. I've learned to love oysters recently, but I like them firm. How do you cook them?

I try to have fish once every week. No chicken or red meat for me. I am happy to hear that your cataract surgery went well.

I haven't heard of frying sardines. Were they good? I don't care for them, so not sure if I would like them better fried. Have you ever had fried catfish? It's so delicious when prepared correctly.
