I received a notice from my daughter's school this afternoon. The school will hold a clothes donation ceremony on the 18th of this month.
The donation of clothes is voluntary. The donated clothes will be sent to the mountainous areas of Guizhou. This is to help poor local children.
And then I'm going to find some clothes.I have some clothes to donate.
Dear friends, have you ever donated clothes?

Collecting clothes for kids in fine but when it comes to adults who will want to wear what I wear? They will surely not wear jeans for example. Will they? Not here in India atleast.

We only donate clothes for children this time. There is a Thrift market near my home. There are lots of old clothes for sale every Sunday morning. I found someone going there to buy it.

@caopaopao I do not like to waste, some people can profit for things we do not use.

we plan to, but there are some public officials here who actually get the donated clothes for their own use.

They really shouldn't have done this. This will discourage donors of clothes.

@caopaopao or not, they put these clothes in a plastic bag bearing the names of the politicians, which could be a signal for early campaigning for election.

Yes I do donate clothes. We have a local place to drop them off and then they are distributed to those in need.

I always do especially during Christmas season or when calamity strikes some place; I give it to those working in charity organizations.

Yes, we give away old clothes several times a year. My daughters outgrow their clothes really fast and I make sure to give away most of them as soon as possible. We still have a lot of clothes to dispose of. We do send stuff for disaster relief and for charity. Most of the time though we just hand the clothes down to less fortunate neighbors, relatives and friends.

That sounds great, and I always do that, too. In doing so, every piece of clothing can play its greatest role.

Yes, I do. I donate to a few places. The Salvation Army, Goodwill and Veterans are some I have given used clothing to. A very good cause!

During college days, we are required to do so. I think it is common. During calamities, volunteers asked for clothes donation regardless if new or used as long as those can be distributed immediately. It's an act of giving to the unfortunate ones and that's one way of teaching our children.
