Have you ever thought you knew the lyrics to a popular song, only to find out later that you were singing it WRONG??!
I discovered, to my chagrin that after all of these years (30 at least) I was singing the lyrics to one of my favorite 80's songs completely wrong!
Is that my fault or is it the fault of the artist? (In this case Tom Cochrane)
He wrote the lyrics, true. So he should know them. But he doesn't sing them very clearly if I totally misunderstood ALL of them.
The song in discussion is "White Hot" by Red Rider. These are the lyrics to the song. (I won't write what I'VE been singing. )

Here is the song itself. Can you make out any of the lyrics being sung as they are written?

Yeah, I've botched the lyrics to quite a few songs in my time. I was kid in the 80's and distinctly remember thinking the main lyrics to Karma Chameleon were "comma" chameleon. I think the fact that we were learning punctuation and grammar in school influenced me!

@caopaopao I just realized recently that this song was written as a factual account of the adventure of the French poet Arthur Rimbaud through Somalia and Ethiopia in the 19th century. It was used to raise awareness of the crisis in Somalia in 80's and 90's.

I have had to actually look up the lyrics of some song. Fernando by ABBA is one that I could never quite get all the words and after looking them up, I am still confused lol

Here is the song. I don't think it copied in the discussion.
By Canadian band Red Rider from their first album "Don't Fight It" from 1980. This is one of the best songs ever made, seriously, it kicks arse.

That does happen to me that I do not which artist of the Rock and Roll era sang a hit tune that I really enjoyed like some of the songs by Johnny Nash.
