I made it back from Montana and Colorado

Just a quick note to let everyone know I made it back from Montana and Colorado. I worked on the cabin in Montana, and visited a former kid client and her mom in Colorado. It was a great time.
The entire Western United States, from California to Oregon to Montana to Utah, was covered in haze from the wildfires burning in the West. I did not see true blue sky until I reached Colorado.
I'll probably be a "cereal poster" over the next few days, as I have several pictures I want to share. I'll start with one of what may have been the church in Gilt Edge, a ghost town near my cabin that was active around 1900.

I am assuming the photo above is of said "possible" church?

@TheHorse Did you explore that property? There may have been a graveyard there if it was a church. Even without stone monuments the ground would be sunken in a tell-tale pattern.

@TheHorse If the cross was put in later, maybe it was there to mark where the church once was.
It's just sad that, if so, it is now just that little bit.
I love to look at older buildings, even the run down ones. I hate when I see them run down, knowing something could be done about it.

@TheHorse .....It could be the cover of a ghost stories or old west one. I like the first.

The picture could be interpreted in many ways, couldn't it? That's why I had to take it. The version you see is cropped. But I cropped it down further to eliminate the sky and make it even more intimate. I have kept both versions. Which do you think is more evocative?

@TheHorse Visited with a friend and went to a festival.
Everybody's having festivals this time of year. I spent the weekend in Hamilton and I could have gone to the Greek Festival, or the Cactus Festival, but opted...

I love old buildings like that, did you take a metal detector around out there, no telling what you might have found. Glad your travels were safe, where in Colorado did you go? I miss it, I am heading back that way for a visit in a couple of weeks.

@JohnRoberts It is. But I admit that I enjoy it more when I have things to get done...at my own pace.

Do these areas in Western US are getting any rains. It must be very tough for the people there?
