To hire or to buy

Some person have it clear, they prefer to buy a home (appartment or house, it doesn't matter), as they are sure or believe that they will live forever at the same place. But, not everyone stays long time at the same place and prefer move and change their jobs. Stability is not for everyone. Changes in life can be very interesting. Personally, I prefer to rent. I already emigrated for times in my life, changed house/appartment more often and had many different kind of jobs. From all those experiences, I learnt a lot. Experiences, which enriched my life and personallity. It gives a kind of liberty, helps to improve self-confidence and to mature by another way. Do you need more stability? Or do you prefer changes in your life?

I've moved a lot and wanted stability, so bought a home, only to lose it, so I'm back to renting.

@Meramar Yes, it does in some ways. Though, I would still like to own my own home.

It happened to me, too. I bought an appartment in 2000, but I had to give it up. It seems like renting gives you more liberty.

@just4him It definitely makes a big difference. If you own one (appartment or house), you are able to creat your real home. Something difficult if you rent somewhere to live.

If you buy, when you move you recover your money. The money spent in rent is lost forever.

@Meramar It all depends which kind of contract you can obtain.

That's right. It's an investment with a big hole.

What works for one person might not be right for another. It is nice that many do have a choice.

I would love to own my own home, but short of winning the lottery (in which I never buy tickets) or some long-lost great uncle that I have never heard of dying and leaving me his millions, it is not likely to happen. Renting is insecure, and rents go up as the years pass, whereas your own home is yours for as long or as short a time as you want, and it's value increases over the years.

Lottery is wasting the money enriching others. Sometimes, I buy a ticket. The most I won was 143 euros (more or less 165 USD) and that was a long time ago! No chance to buy a home with
