HI MyLot. Yesterday, I had my day off and decided to do some chores in the house. The usual dusting and cleaning of areas of the house. I used to do these things regularly before. I got busy at work and life that I do tend to skip on these tasks every now and then.
I was doing the usual when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in one of my hands. It seems to come from my ring finger down to my wrist. I never experienced that before so I was quite surprised. I stopped for a while and joked to myself, 'you are getting old dude..'. Then it hit me. There was truth to that statement.
Physically, you won't believe me when I say I am turning 35 next year. Some mistake me for being a 20-year old dude just starting in life. I can't blame them since my outwards appearance tend to mislead people about my age.
I often hear older people saying things like 'when I was younger, I can easily do this and that'. It has a lot to do about how we take care of our bodies, but I guess there are things that naturally comes with getting older. We just have to accept it and live the most out of each day.
What are your thoughts about getting old?

I'm 54 and I no longer worry about it. Just enjoy the ride your experiences offer you. If I feel pain, I work the area until I can't feel it anymore. The pain might still be there, but at a much more tolerable level. I rarely ever take pain pills.

@Janet357 I have acquaintances but no true "friends". I'm fine with that because it keeps my life drama free.
My profile picture is a caricature drawing I had done by an artist in Vancouver. It does make me look like a teenager, a boy actually, but I was always a tomboy by nature.

I think it all boils down to how we take care of ourselves while we are young. Let's all strive to have awesome senior years!

Yeah I agree. Vitality is one thing too. We get tired easier as we age. Thanks for responding!

It's a sign of progress according to most people. Our usual activities and food intake could be the reasons. Nowadays, I am complaining about this discomfort in my lower back commonly during sleeping time. I need to calculate my movement especially during changing position because I cannot move directly because of the discomfort which I cannot describe as pain though.

Have you gone to your orthopedic for checkup? I sure hope its not spine-related. I remember a time where I had the same experience. Although strangely, it went away on its own.

@blindedfox Not yet this very moment. I have a scheduled lab tests next week ordered by my internist. It was requested two months ago after giving me with the medication I have needed. I will include this with my complaint when I get to see him after the procedure and the results. He would probably refer me to another specialist. I hope so that it's not something serious. I'm worried of the idea that it would lead to immobility. I thought, it would just went away over time but it's not.

@ZedSmart I remembered that before that happened, I tried lifting a really heavy object the wrong way. It kind of forced my back and had to endure it for a couple of days. I hope you get well soon kabayan!

Thank you for responding! I can see that! We tend to forget things more frequently as we go older!
