That's Twice

Am I losing my mind? Sunday when I went to supper with my grandson to Golden Corral, I left my bag/tote sitting on the chair next to me and had to go back in that pouring rain to get it. Thankfully, someone turned it in, and nothing was taken. This morning, I went to Wal-Mart for a very light shopping trip. I needed water, I have three bottles left. Also some cooking spray and baker's chocolate powder. Like I said, a light shopping trip. I wanted bananas too, but they didn't look the greatest and mostly green, so I wouldn't have been able to have one for at least a day maybe longer. So, I just left them. Something else I left, my bag/tote in the basket for the mobile cart. I got home, reached for the non-existent bag, and put the car in reverse and headed back to Wal-Mart. It is now hanging on a peg where I always keep it with the coats. I hope I've learned. I don't want to make this three times in one week. There are only two days left of this week. The picture is mine. The bag immediately behind it, the flowered one is my gym bag. Have you left things behind to find you had to hurry and get back and get it before it was lost for good? Thanks for reading.

I have never left my purse, years ago I forgot a camera on a chair in a restaurant and I had to go back to recover it.

@just4him We had worked very late in the evening and I was so tired when I finished the dinner, I got up and forgot about everything.

@LadyDuck I can understand how that would make you forget things.

I would if I did not leave my keys attached or in my purse/bag. I need the keys to start the car so I would automatically miss the bag!

@just4him I understand we all develop certain ways of doing things. I just know that if I didn't need my keys I might leave my purse. I have a bulky keychain so I don't like to put them in my pockets or on my belt loop. When it is cold out and I don't feel like carrying a purse, if I am wearing a jacket I will put my small wallet and my keys in my jacket pockets. Being free of a purse can be liberating!

I always put my keys in my pants/jacket pocket and only in my purse if I don't have either available. I have one pair of pants without pockets and I don't always wear a jacket, especially in summer. So, my keys are rarely in my bag.

@arthurchappell I usually forget my lists, but having written them down, I at least have a good memory of what's on them.

Oh no, I sure hope this doesn't happen again. and very glad the person at the restaurant turned it in without taking anything. Good people do still exist! I've almost forget my phone a few times, on the carts seat. but never did leave without it. thankfully.

That might be one thing I would leave behind and wouldn't think twice about it as I rarely use my phone.

The older I get the more forgetful I become. I think it will only get worse. As for bottled water, if I were you I'd get it at Menards. It's only $1.99 for a 24 pack of half liter bottles. I know even the generic Walmart brand is way more than that.

My problem with that is I can't lift a 24 pack. I buy in 12 packs. I know it's more expensive in the smaller sizes, but I do what I have to with the weight restriction I have.

@porwest The question is, do I want to spend less and be in pain for the rest of the day, or pay more and be pain-free. It's a no-brainer really. I have a crushed vertebra in my back between my shoulder blades, so I can't lift over 20 pounds.

I'm glad you got it back both times... I was putting some shopping in the trunk of the car...but put a bag on the ground by the wheel to make room for it.... then forgot about it..., closed the trunk and drove off... but I saw it in my rear view mirror. .., so stopped and went and got it....lol

The only place I went was to my pastor's home last night, and I'm sure if I left it there, I'd get it back tomorrow. Fortunately, it's sitting where it belongs on its peg.

I have left my purse in various places before. Now my husband reminds me to pick it up. I guess we are both absent minded.

Years ago, I left once my bag in a cafeteria. After taking a cup of coffee, I paid and left. When I arrived home, I started to search my bag and had to return to that cafeteria. It was still on the chair where I left it.

Nice bag. I wonder what is causing you to forget it? Ah happens easily some days. I'm happy that you have been able to retrieve it both times. Don't feel bad. I've locked keys in my car before. Once I locked myself out of my apartment, too

I can't do both, but I could probably do one. My apartment keys and my car keys are on the same ring. Come to think of it, if I locked my keys in the car, I wouldn't be able to get into my apartment. For an emergency of that magnitude, my son has my spare set of car keys. Thank you. I saw that at my hair dresser's salon one day and had to have it. It's handmade.

Certainly I've left things. What makes for a really bad feeling is when you get all the way home before realizing you're missing something, and have to go back to get it.

I carry my wallet in my back pocket, usually even when I carry my purse. just in case I forget it. Everything else can be replaced easier than my licesne and debit cards.

I left a cellphone behind and it was turned in. I was very lucky - in my country forgotten things are usually gone for good - with a few exceptions of course.
