That should be completely up to the family. I think Australia should do something to commemorate him too, but if the family wants a private service that is totally reasonable and should be respected.

i think the public should be able to attend.. I dont think it should be on tv or anything. but that man was a great, he has done so much for this world. The people he touched shoiuld be able to be there..

Well it happened so fast and the family wasa still trying to cope with it all and i think htey was right in having a private one, because i know i wouldn't be able to handle it if my hubby passed away without no warning i'd still be shock for a long time..But they should have a memeorial service for him so everyone could come and and say there goodbyes to a great man...

This is after the fact, but I believe the public should respect the wishes of his family and friends who knew him the best. The best we can do as outside television friends is to respect his mission and provide funds to keep his vision alive. I have one site I make money one that is ear-marked as money I will send to the Australian Zoo. It's not a big amount, but it's my personal way of saying thanks to who I think was a really great guy.
