I guess I am as guilty as the next person but I am open to people no matter what their label.

It is actually human tendency to classify. It begins with what is edible, what is not..which rooms are ok to sleep in, and who are our neighbors, etc. Classification helps us increase the speed with which we process our data and take decisions. Sometimes we go wrong. But most of the time, we are right. The problem is, when we go wrong, we can go very wrong. LOL

I think people like to put things into easy categories, other people included. I don't know why we do this, maybe it's some kind of organization impulse.

Yes, I think everyone does this, especially in books to describe a person or scene.

We all do it so everything is neat and in a box-- bad habit but most people don't think about it either. Just do it. :(

It's true. I try not to but - but I find that I do label people at times. I'm doing it less, but it's still there.
We make assumptions that aren't always true.
I think it best to get to know someone.
Nice photo !

It depends. Some deserve to be labeled.

Yes, I also label people in my mind, although I agree that it is not right. We are constantly changing.

Placing labels on or stereotyping people has become the way of separating humanity. It is also how the ones in power can keep tabs on everyone, by placing them in certain "classes" and statuses.
That is quickly changing as more and more people see each other as equal.
