yes as the title says. Why do they say like or totally all the time.
Most conversation that I have is well you know like etc.
Like what?like this, etc. They should replace this another word
This is one of the misused word
Totally is just as bad.
For me I never use it.
do you see that bug there.Do you know what it is

That's, like, totally a yellow garden spider.
I think it's generational slang. I remember being in 6th grade when "Valley Girl speak" became trendy, and I think the "like" and "totally" are remnants of that.

You are so "totally" right about this. Both words have become common and overused.
Looks like a spider of some sort?

A big ugly garden spider, we have them here, 2 on the deck.
The totally and like slang that I remember was an 80`s valley girl movie thing. I don`t use either that I can think. I use awesome, fabulous and wonderful more.

I don’t use like or totally when communicating orally or written. Like however is a popular filler amongst Indians and many of my friends use it regularly.

Another one here is 'sort of' or 'sort of thing'. Once you hear people saying any of these words they start jumping out at you.

I also wonder why. Maybe they are not fond of reading so they are lost for words and use like and totally as their expression or filler for lost word.
