There are days when I spend my money very wisely. I monitor each and every penny I spend. While there are times when I become extremely casual and do not care about any expense. I let my money flow like water.
What is your way of spending money?

@compslick That is the way I feel also. I try not to spend anymore than I really need to but there are times that I do want something for me. But I don't go over board with my spending.

I was a casual spender and at times did not think twice if I like something say an expensive gadget or video games. After marriage though, I have started keeping a tab on my expenses and make sure not to splurge unnecessarily.

I used to spend a little more money on good relaxing transport like cabs, while returning home from a 24 hour shift almost each week. But it might have been a wrong decision, in retrospect. Usually, I plan out the monthly expenditure from before and try to stick to it.

24 hour shift can be really tiring. So hiring a cab is not wrong of you ask me. But if you can conveniently get other means of transport then try to avoid it.

@amitkokiladitya oh yes. my sister is very orderly. even when we buy take-out food, the receipts should be kept stapled by her. when i buy rice, even if i was the one who bought it, she has to keep the recipt. it is so she knows what day did we open the new sack of rice.

Well, I have learned how to be frugal just five years ago. I used to live beyond my means when I was younger but now that I am older, I really have to think about my future, so I have decided to change my lifestyle. Now, I just shop once every 5 months.
