We heard that we shall not tell lies as it will lead our noses grow longer. This is common to say it to children. Are there any other results? Here we will also say if you tell lies, your teeth will be fallen out Perhaps it is scary enough for children

I never told my son any of those or I would be teaching him exactly how to lie.

@JudyEv My son was very smart even at a very young age. In fact I just had to explain to him things and he would never do it at all. He was very curious at every thing so I try to satisfy those curiosity by explaining thoroughly everything. I know most kids draw on the walls but my son never did though I saw that he was tempted to.. I explained to him how much better his drawings would be on a paper instead of the wall and he understood perfectly. So I think we shouldn't scare our children with lies that could backfire when they grow up and become wiser.

I must admit I do tell a lie, when it is to save my face. But as much as I can, I don't want to tell a lie. Besides, my facial expression of my eyes reveals my lie.

@flpoolbum I guess, if we are not really used to telling a lie, we will always be caught thru our facial expression or thru our eyes.

Yes, once you tell lies, you need to keep telling lies to cover it.

@Mavic123456 ~If you have enough money to afford a good plastic surgeon, your nose could be any way that you want it to be.

I did not tell my kids any of these things. Or that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and ghosts etc. were real. I think they turned out okay.

Sometimes it is not easy to cover a lie as you have to create more for it.

hahah! I tend to go with honesty instead of using a lie to tell kids not to lie. They will sooner or later realize you lied and it doesn't give them any reason to believe in honesty if the people around them can't be honest.

Lol, thats ridiculous to tell to young ones. They first get their wisdom from parents and telling such lies will just make them a fool for years
