Away for a day or two - and I'm going to be helping with goats

We will be hooking up the caravan soon and heading off to an endurance ride where Vince will take photos of the horses and riders. Usually he takes some in the vet (veterinary) ring where the horses are thoroughly checked and trotted out for the vets to make sure they have no problems.
On Saturday we try to find a spot alongside the track the horses will take so we can get shots of them in action. BUT – the light must come from the right angle and the background needs to be something that doesn’t hide the horse and rider, which is why the canola crop background was so good. You need to be able to get off to the side a little so the horse isn’t coming straight at you and you need to be able to see them coming so you have time to line up and focus your camera. Sigh – such a lot of criteria to meet.
After many times trying to suggest stuff, mostly I just keep quiet now and go along with whatever Vince says. But it's all good. And - at the eleventh hour the new diesel heater in the caravan is now working so we'll be toasty warm when we have to get up early tomorrow. Haha. Those riders doing 160 kms (100 miles) will be leaving at midnight but luckily we don't take photos in the dark.
And another piece of news – my nephew has asked if I can help him and my sister with their goats at the Perth Royal Show. I will be in my element! And it’s a possibility that Vince might be asked to take photos of the prize winners. He will only be able to do that on the Friday as he flies to Nepal next day and I’ll be driving home alone. See you on Sunday – MY Sunday that is.
And did you notice that this horse has all four feet off the ground?

I have a couple shots of both Mykey and Ally with their feet in the air, my Nikon has a sports feature that allows me to take rapid shots of sporting events, not that I watch sports but when Mykey and Ally used to play with the ball that I'd throw they'd chase it and I got some nifty shots. @JudyEv

@rebelann My little point and shoot is great most of the time but trying to take action shoots is hopeless. There is a tiny delay between pressing the button and taking the photo but it makes all the difference if you're trying to get a particular bit of action.

Now, that's good photography! Have fun at the endurance trials. I also pray for a good flight to Nepal for Vince and a good time while he's there. I take it all the beanies are packed for him to take with him. I'm glad the heater is working.

Was it a deliberate attempt to capture that horse with all his 4 legs the air? That must have been a patient wait.

I think goats might be my favourite animal. But then sheep are pretty cool too but not quite as entertaining as sheep.

Thanks. We're home again now and it went off well. We were very lucky it didn't rain on us.

My nephew has Saanens and Nigerian dwarf goats. The latter are very cute and cuddly. I can hardly wait.

He actually has all four feet off the ground - not that it matters. And the ride was fun. We're home again now.
