There's no such rule that you have to initiate a discussion. You can participate in others discussion and start earning.

hi and welcome to mylot. be sure to read the community guidelines and the faq to know what's allowed and not allowed here. at mylot, we earn when we receive likes, responses and comments, but there is no fixed rate/amount, unlike in other sites. however, we also don't have min/max limits ex. no. of words per post, no. of posts per day. we're also not required to log in every day to keep our account active. be sure to input your paypal email address in your account settings. so how and where did you know about mylot? what are your expectations here?

Well, you can potentially earn something if other people respond to or even "like" anything you post on this site (your own discussion or a response/comment on someone else's discussion). If no one does this you earn nothing.
